Rehabilitation
or mental health counselor’s work with mentally, emotionally, physically disabled.
It is there job to help patients develop more faith in themselves. They work
with patients to help them become self-sufficient and productive. Councilors often
work closely with their patients’’ doctors and family. Counselors may work in a
private practice, for schools, industry, or in hospital or residential health
care setting. Counselors often:
v Work
with patience who abuse alcohol or addicted to drugs.
v Interview
and observe patients to determine problem areas.
v Conduct
personality, aptitude, achievement, and physiological tests.
v Help
patience find and keep jobs.
Average Salary: $25,000-$45,000
Educational Requirements:
Students
interested in becoming counselors should take a challenge high school curriculum.
A bachelor’s
degree in education psychology or sociology is the minimum requirement of low
level consoling jobs, but a master’s degree id required for most to become licensed
by a state, consoling must pass written and oral examination and work for about
two years in supervised clinical setting.
